On March 21, President Yoichi Terashita and Vice President Liu Fei of the Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI) paid an official visit to Fujian Normal University (FNU). They were warmly welcomed by Vice President Ouyang Songying, who was joined by representatives from the International Office, the School of Computer and Cyber Security, and the International College of Chinese Studies.
During the meeting, Vice President Ouyang Songying extended a warm welcome to the delegation and provided an overview of FNU’s efforts in international education and global collaboration. He highlighted the long-standing partnership between the two institutions, emphasizing how it has successfully cultivated interdisciplinary talents with global perspectives and cross-disciplinary expertise. He also noted the role of this partnership in fostering China-Japan exchanges in digital technology innovation. Ouyang expressed hope that this visit would further strengthen communication, deepen collaboration, and elevate bilateral cooperation to new levels of excellence.
President Yoichi Terashita shared insights into KCGI’s achievements in global education and its institutional strengths. He praised the dynamic cooperation between the two universities, which has been characterized by frequent faculty-student exchanges and the continuous expansion of collaborative fields. Terashita proposed leveraging the academic strengths of both institutions and their solid partnership foundation to advance cooperative education into a new phase of broader domains, multi-level engagement, and high-quality development. He emphasized that such efforts would foster mutual growth and prosperity through resource synergy.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to broadening collaboration channels, innovating joint education models, and enhancing faculty-student interactions to promote deeper academic and cultural exchanges.
Following the discussions, the delegation toured the FNU campus, gaining a deeper understanding of the university's facilities and academic environment.
